Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated — November 5, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using Video Transcriber (the "Service"). It applies to every upload, link, transcript, translation, AI-generated note, chat message and dubbed audio processed through the Service. By using the Service you agree to this AUP, our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
1. Prohibited content
You may not upload, submit, request, generate, translate, dub or share content that falls into any of the following categories. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.
- Sexual content / NSFW. Pornographic material, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual sexual content, or content intended to sexualize a real person.
- Violence and gore. Graphic violence, torture, mutilation, threats of violence, or content that encourages or instructs on how to harm people or animals.
- Hate speech. Content that attacks, dehumanizes, threatens or incites hatred against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any content that sexualizes minors, including text, images, audio and links. We report apparent CSAM to the appropriate authorities and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Deepfakes and impersonation. Face swaps, voice cloning, lip-sync or other synthetic media that makes a real person appear to say or do something they did not say or do, or that presents a real person in a fabricated intimate or compromising situation, whether or not the person consented. See section 3.
- Copyright and trademark infringement. Content you do not have the right to process, reproduce, translate, dub or distribute, including copyrighted audio, video, music, scripts and third-party trademarks used in a misleading way.
Also prohibited: illegal or regulated activity, malware, phishing, harassment, privacy violations, attempts to bypass quotas or security controls, and use of the Service to build or operate a product that offers any of the prohibited capabilities above.
2. Uploaded real-person media and voice
If you upload a photo, video or voice recording of a real person, you must either be that person or have their explicit permission to process the material. By uploading, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and consent. Do not upload another person's likeness or voice to create misleading, intimate, defamatory or impersonating content. Supplying consent does not make deepfake or non-consensual intimate content acceptable.
3. AI-generated content
The Service uses AI models for transcription, translation, note generation, chapters, summaries, mind maps and dubbing. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or offensive even when the input is benign. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it or publishing it. Do not present AI-generated transcripts, translations, summaries or dubbed audio as verified human work where that distinction matters. We may label or filter AI output where required by law or platform policy.
The models behind these features are: AssemblyAI for speech recognition; DeepSeek for translation, AI notes, chapters, mind maps and chat; Azure Speech for premium dubbing voices; and Cloudflare Workers AI MeloTTS for free dubbing voices. We may change providers as the Service evolves and will update this page when we do.
4. Moderation and enforcement
We use a combination of automated and manual checks. Before text is sent to an AI model, it is scanned by our content-safety provider (Waffo Prompt Sift); AI output is also checked before it is shown. Flagged input or output may be blocked, and a request may be paused for review. We keep moderation decisions and request identifiers for audit and appeals.
If you violate this AUP, we may, depending on severity and history:
- remove or refuse to process the content;
- issue a warning;
- reset or forfeit unused quota;
- suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service;
- report the matter to law enforcement or the relevant authorities where required.
Serious violations — especially CSAM, non-consensual intimate content, credible threats or deepfake abuse — may result in immediate termination without notice. We may preserve and disclose relevant records when legally required.
5. Reporting a violation
To report content or behavior that violates this AUP, email support@videotranscriber.net with the subject line "AUP report". Please include:
- the transcript, task or share link (or a screenshot);
- a short description of the problem and where it appears;
- the date and time you saw it;
- your contact email, if you would like a reply.
Reports are reviewed by a real person. We aim to acknowledge reports within one business day and to take appropriate action promptly. Reports about CSAM or imminent harm are prioritized. We keep reporter identities confidential unless disclosure is required by law.
6. Appeals
If you believe content was blocked or your account was restricted in error, reply to our decision email or write to the address above with the subject "AUP appeal" and any request ID shown in the error message. We will review the decision and respond within a reasonable period.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP as our features, providers or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page or by email where appropriate.
